No illustrations! The author's son's main reason for publishing this edition (see preface, p2) was to rescue Phantastes "from an edition illustrated without the author's sanction", i.e. illustrated by an artist other than Arthur Hughes, the distinguished pre-Raphaelite artist who had worked regularly with Macdonald and had done the original illustrations for this book. Very disappointed to find that the illustrations have been completely removed from this version! Great Literature - Disappointing Product
